Fair warning, the audio is horrible (and there is no need to keep watching after 20 seconds).

So this happened last week near my home town (not my dashcam though). We just started having consistently nice weather so all the nice cars are coming out. Although I think the owner of this car may have wanted to double check a few things before giving it the beans. You can help but cringe when you watch it.

Looks like a bigger problem than breaking a u-joint.

Bunch of assholes for laughing. That car was probably the owner’s pride and joy

I’ve been wondering about this since I saw it yesterday. Could the U-bolts on the leaf spring perch letting go cause this? Because I don’t see the springs on the axle tubes after the rear falls out.

Agreed. The kids (I say kids, but they very well could be my age) could have done many things other than laugh and drive off.

This is one of the better frames I could pull. To me it looks like there had to be several failures. Watching the car hope, maybe the suspension let loose first and the hopping sheared the U bolts?

It looks like there are sparks coming from the front. I thought the driveshaft broke from the front, thus the car bounced until it broke away from the rear.

Could be. Sad to see failure like this.
